Forms of Persecution

Persecution comes in many shapes and forms, such as unfair wages. In many regions, wages for Christians are deliberately reduced — or may not even exist to start with — as a way of suppression.

“Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you.”

Persecution can occur in hospitals where some countries do not even allow prayer. Christian patients often face hostility or denial of care simply for their faith.

“Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them.”

The reality is that there are many forced conversions around the world. Individuals — often kidnapped along with children and spouses — are pressured or forced to renounce their faith and convert.

“Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.”
